I'm so amped to show you this most recent 2xLP project. it's all encompassing, and totally exhaustive. It's more content from this band then you've ever heard, and it's wrapped in some of the most bananas art I've seen yet. It's the LEGENDARY Dead Will Rise!
What kind of nostalgia label would this be if I didn’t put out DWR? Not only is the hilariously brutal "Rest Assured" on here, but "Entrepreneur" make it's vinyl debt as well. We've got live recordings, bonus tracks, instrumental demos, the works!
DWR is one of "those" bands for sure. Just so raw and aggressive. It's the perfect combination of like, metal riffs with grindy overtones. And breakdowns. It's the perfect early 2000s metal band. It’s a really specific sounds that’s kind of hard to nail down, to be honest. It’s very kind of pseudo-deathgrind, and really kind of trailblazed that sound. It’s these shouty death metal vocals over just RAW production, riffs, and breakdowns. Such an interesting hybrid that could only exist in the MySpace era!
Art was handled by Hell Simulation and is just an incredible homage to the original Entrepreneur artwork. It’s been expanded to give it that 2021 dystopian vibe, and ELM really took advantage for the gatefold layout and PACKED this thing with content. Absolutely one of my favorite art packages to date. And did I mention that there is a brand new logo in tow from the one and only Lab 13? Kai just keeps killing it I swear!
Audio is once again handled by Zach at Third Eye Studios and just sounds amazing. The original records definitely have some charm in how raw they are, but Zach really brought them to life with these remasters. Still immediately identifiable, but so much more modern sounding.
As a bonus, this is once again a charity release with the proceeds of this release going to Effective Altruism! And in that context, I can’t thank Twelve Gauge Records enough for letting the band and I run with this release. DWR is a true legacy band, and if you didn’t know, Entrepreneur originally came out on 12 Gauge. Jihad was so accommodating and let this whole release happen with 0 fuss. Really appreciate everything 12G has done for the scene, and for WV in this case! Thank you!
