Depths have made a name for themselves in New Zealand for being like, one of the founders and continuous innovators of Djent/Thall. Their recent outputs (if you’re not familiar, get familiar) are up there with vildhjarta and Humanity’s Last Breath. Its insane to have watched them grow in to that genre, and their most recent album is a masterclass in tone and composition. But where did it all start? With Revelation.
For the art, I was a little intimidated just because I love the original So much. But! Shindy came in clutch on this one - I knew he was the man for a big illustrated job! He retained the color palette and the the subject matter, but made it a bit more “WV-y” haha. Obsessed with this rendition, and as usual, Kai over at Lab.13 did an incredible job with the layout!
This is a weird one because for the most part, the copies are gone! I had a small cache of records sold in the WV group so I could offset the cost and give as many as possible to the band to sell. I figure with them being in New Zealand, this was the best way to keep shipping and everything low for their fans over there. They’ll have the brunt of the run (including sigs) available in their store, shows, everywhere over in NZ! If you’re a fan, go hit them up and see what they have! As far as my copies, maybe you’ll see them out and about, haha. But the best place to grab one will be from the band. And I advised them to price them in the normal WV way - so go support and grab a record!
