Yes, we’re all having a lot of fun with the deathcore revival happening right now. But what we’re not doing is properly gatekeeping and focusing our attention out of the immediate USA-sphere for the genre. Real heads know that it was Australia at the forefront; it was Skull and Bones and RTD who were breaking the bands that were pushing the genre forward in its infancy. Australia was more technical, had better production and was just all around more of a “vibe” imo. Not surprising that Infinite Death and Earth Harvest had their homes on Australian labels (and the same one at that, Skull and Bones was insane).
