See You Next Tuesday - God Awful Sonic History

Variant

Here it is. My life’s work. One of the releases I NEVER thought I’d be able to do, but yet, here we are! I’d hope at this point no one is a stranger to See You Next Tuesday. The final chapter in the CUNT universe – I present GASH!

What do you do when the literal best band of all time has all their material on vinyl? You go DEEPER. This is scene history right here. If you’re like me, I’m sure you can remember the first time you heard the Summer Sampler (I was at Costco waiting for my mom to check out). It left an IMPRESSION. This little three song promo forever changed music for me. Nothing hit this hard or was this chaotic. These three songs shaped a generation of music makers (and of course Parasite fully refined it, but let me be indulgent here).

But of course, the sampler isn’t enough. Even deeper down the rabbit hole we had to go. In my favorite type of WV fashion, a long-legendary, hard to buy CD is now ALSO seeing its first (and only) time on vinyl. This was a Tragedy (TWAT). I think this “early discog” encompasses so much of what was cool about turn of the millennium music. And if you’re a CUNT fan (which you are) I’m sure you’ll be as happy as me (I’m fanboy-ing) over having fully remastered versions of this incredible material.

This project was so so so fun, and in direct collaboration with the band. Art, audio, etc was overseen. I think this body of work gives a
lot of context to Parasite and Intervals, and really makes those releases shine and make sense. As much as I wish all their releases weren’t already on sick vinyl so I could have done them, I think adding GASH to the mix is deliberate enough and cultural enough to warrant its own pressing. What is WV if not for preserving history?

So all that being said - what IS this release? Well, all of their seminal works are on vinyl already. So in the spirit of “no represses”, I had to look deeper (because I wanted to work with them so so badly). WV is a collector label, and I’m trying to enrich the vinyl market, not capitalize on a bunch of represses. So the band and I really had to think about what we could do.

Everything about this release is just so fucking stellar. Now that we’ve touched on the audio and history, you probably want to know about
this fucking neon hot-topic-core artwork. You’ll notice it’s an homage to the original mustache man on the OG sampler. But what you might not know is that it was done by CHAD FUCKING LENJER again! That’s right! Scene artist to the stars did me the honor of updating his classic work for 2020. It turned out INCREDIBLE and I think it’s so fitting. Layout and formatting + some cool textural elements done by the incredible Kai at LAB 13.

This release will be a one time pressing of 300 units, across five (5) insane variants. So insane in fact, that I’m not going to tell you what they are! HA!

So that's the gist of it! I'm so incredible stoked to share this with you all! Take a deep dive in to the remaster tracks once again courtesy of Zach Sebastian at Third Eye Studios. They sound MASSIVE and are up on the bandcamp as we speak! They'll be up for purchase on drop day!

Speaking of, these will go live Friday, October 16th at 1:00pm CST.

While it is a preorder, it will be a realitively short one. I submitted everyting and paid for it like a month and a half ago. Plating is done, and the packaging is already underway! So even though it is all hand-laid like TGRH, the shippign timeline will be much shorter! As always, I will try and provide as many updates as possible along the way!
Enjoy!
