As much as I appreciate cool myspace deathcore stuff, my one true love will always be mathy techgrind. It’s the WV lifeblood. For the first grindy insta to kick us off, I knew it had to be something big. I’m STOKED to announce that coming next week is the one and onlyInside The Beehive! AH!
If you were around in the raucous early 2000s, you might remember the type of vibe that mathcore was on. At the turn of the decade, ISTB distilled all that greatness and influence in to one amazingly well produced album. Drink Bleach; Live Forever. This is absolutely a scene staple and is ISTB is the biggest small band you’ve ever seen.
It’s jarring to hear mathcore done so aggressively and modern. This is the most spastic, chaotic, ferocious and over the top album you might not have heard. It’s shrieky and guttural, noodly and noisy. It’s hard to keep talking about this album without it just being a bunch of buzzword cliches – but it really is that good.
It’s straight to the point. It is absolutely over the top without being corny. It’s one of the best, most aggressive mathcore performances of all time. A classic album with limited physical versions out in the world. It’s been on my WV top 10 list for years now, and I’m so happy that I was able to work directly with Mike, Chris and the rest of the boys on bringing this to life.
The reworked art is by none other thanBen Hoagland, and it was made in direct conjunction with the band. It’s the classic fetus with a little skeuomorphism and some on the nose charm, haha. It’s aggressive and really hits everything I wanted to see on a 2021-ification (or I guess 2020 when this was made) of this classic art. There is tons of texture, expansive writeups and lots of little goodies to explore throughout!
As usual, audio was handled by Zach atThird Eye Studios. Not that it needed a lot, but I think these remasters really bring out a lot of texture on these songs. Definitely let me know what you think!

It’s hard to express what an honor it is to represent this amazing material. Thank you again to the ISTB boys for letting this happen! I remember placing this order back in November and dreaming about what this was going to look like in a year. It’s been a long time coming, and I hope we can send a few more fans over to the beehive camp!
