So we’ve literally got the worlds most stacked project here: World of Pleasure, Serration, Mortality Rate and Secret Whisper. And that doesn’t even encompass all the guest features! I think its easy to dismiss this whole revival happening here (as I generally have been) but once you hear something like this, it definitely starts to click. They truly just don’t make them like this anymore. Live drums, insane range, cool features, and of course, some of the best riffs you’ve heard this year. You can tell that some Serration brainpower was applied here and this isn’t just a throw-away EP. Its different than a lot of what you’re hearing recently, but I think you’ll feel right at home! This is one of those EPs where you hear it and KNOW that the debut full length is going to be insane, haha. It’s so tight and polished and well executed! Plus it hits all the hallmarks - cool samples, big breakdowns. Instrumental sections. A track called “Intro”. Like, come on!
As it seems to keep happening, we have another Digital Ghost job here too! Recording and mixing was done at Oodelally Studios, DG came in clutch with the mastering! Just such a cohesive, aggressive sounding record! Powerhouses at work!
And as much as I love the music on this, I also can’t get over the art and packaging. Nothing makes me happier than when a band just lets me do my thing - and here we are with another insane presentation! I found this fine artist on Instagram, and in between her lecturing at universities and setting up shows at international galleries, she carved out some time to paint four panels for KOASD! Just insane texture and such a cool presentation. I’m so honored to get to work with an artist of her caliber! Go check out Amy Dury on Instagram! Of course, Kai over at Lab.13 did an insane job of color grading and layout - once you have these in hand, I think you’ll appreciate the level of polish and detail he was Abel to bring to this. For the logo, I wanted something unorthodox as well, and BMS did an incredible hand-illustrated meatball for the occasion!
